This Sunday, January 4th, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord. Blessed chalk and prayers for an Epiphany House blessing are available near church entrances.
Wine and Cheese
All are invited to a wine and cheese reception following the Vigil Mass at 5 p.m. in Holy Name Church on Saturday, January 3rd, the Memorial of the Holy Name of Jesus. The reception will take place in the Holy Name Church narthex (lobby).
Seminary 2nd Collection
The Seminary Collection will be held this weekend, January 3-4. One of the men currently studying for and discerning the Priesthood is from our own Family of Parishes. Please pray for Mr. Max Brown and all the seminarians, that they clearly hear the Lord’s voice. Thank you for donating and funding the costs of our seminarians’ education and formation.
Classes Resume
St. Philip Neri Catholic School classes resume this Tuesday, January 6th. Our shared Religious Education classes also resume at 6:15 p.m. this Wednesday, January 7th, in the St. Philip Neri Catholic School building.
Take Down Christmas Decorations
The modern Christmas Season officially ends next Sunday, January 11th, with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. We need many parishioner volunteers to help take down our Christmas decorations next Sunday at 11 a.m. in St. Philip Neri Church and at 1:30 p.m. in Holy Name Church.
However, the traditional Catholic Christmas Season lasts 40 days until February 2nd, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. For that reason, we will keep any outdoor Christmas lights on through February 2nd and continue to display any healthy poinsettias during that time.
Have a blessed first weekend of January!
